Snowboarding in Japan - Jan-Feb

Scotty, Fiona, Sean, Stan, Tate and myself arrived in Osaka together on the 26th of Jan. After spending the night at the airport (Being woken by the police for a passport check, and then being asked to move by the cleaners) we were a little sleepless and tired boarding our plane to Sapporo. We then got on a bus to Rusutsu, where we were greeted with good snow and a great resort. Unfortunateley Tate stuffed his problem knee traversing on a flat and had to book a flight home.
Then there were 5.

Rusutsu was great and we all found soft snow in between the trees.

Then it was off to Sapporo again where we visited a few different locations around the city including Tiene.

Then it was off to Otaru to board some more mountains around there including Kiroru. Which was great. We then headed back to Sapporo.

We had a night out in Sapporo visiting a bar called 'Booty' which was great. Although when asking directions to this bar a Japanese girl misunderstood and thought we were asking for her Booty! 'Goodbye' she repeated 3 times. And on my long walk back to our hotel at 5am I slipped over on some ice and landed hard on my cheek. Then I got slugged an extra 1,500 yen for sleeping in past 10 am.

Then it was off to Furano.

Where it had not snowed for a couple of days. So we did a day trip to Asidahki. Where it snowed all day and we thought we had lost Sean, But we found him and we had a whole day with good snow falls. Unfortunately it meant a day of not really being able to pick a good path down the mountain as it was white out most of the time. At least we had a good dusting on every run. There were only about 40 people there for the day. And there was only one lift which was a gondola which held about 100 people which was never full. So a pretty good day all in all.
This was my last day snowboarding. I then found myself in Tokyo. Staying with a freind called Jason. He showed me some good nights out with his work colleges. His place was small but we managed to enjoy our short time together. Then I went on the bullet train back to Osaka airport to fly back to Oz.

Soon I was on the small plane back to reality. It was crampt and uncomfortable in the Jetstar flight from Japan. Still, I survived.
Can't wait for a good fly hang gliding now. I may have to wait a while though.
